What is ScreenIndex?

ScreenIndex is a structured review platform for home-screen content — streaming series, video games, YouTube creators, and comedy specials. We built it because star ratings are too blunt, Rotten Tomatoes scores hide the math, and most review sites conflate "critically acclaimed" with "worth watching for you."

Every title on ScreenIndex is scored across five specific pillars: Story Flow, Visual Craft, Sound/Edit, Engagement, and Recommend. Each pillar runs from 0.1 (unwatchable) to 9.9 (near-perfect). The average of all five becomes the Composite Index — the single number you see on every card.

The goal is simple: when you see a score on ScreenIndex, you should be able to drill into exactly what drove it. A 9.6 Engagement score means this title is genuinely hard to stop watching. A 5.2 Story Flow means the narrative drags. No mystery. No hidden weighting.

The Five Pillars
Story Flow
Does the narrative hold together? Pacing, structure, and whether you can follow without rewinding.
Visual Craft
Cinematography, art direction, game graphics, or production design. How good does it look?
Sound / Edit
Score, sound design, voice acting, and editing rhythm. The layer you notice when it's wrong.
Engagement
The one-more-episode pull. Did you look up and realize it was 2am? That's a 9+.
Recommend
Would you text a friend about it? This pillar is personal — it captures real-world word of mouth.
What ScreenIndex is not

ScreenIndex is home-screen only. Theatrical film releases belong on our sister site Film.Index-Reviews.com. We focus exclusively on content built for streaming, gaming, and creator platforms.

We're also not a recommendation engine. We don't track your watch history, we don't personalize scores, and we don't accept advertising that influences rankings. The numbers are the numbers.
